The real fun in mortgages is how they can change people's lives - whether the first purchase, funding those home improvements, or helping borrowers improve their finances. That's what keeps me within this wonderful industry and enjoying helping my clients time and time again.
Unfortunately, my other passions in life - football and music - were unlikely to provide a stable income stream to help support my family. At my age of 52, still being able to play competitive football on a Saturday gets tougher each week, but managing my son's football team for the last 12 years has been not only a great challenge, but a welcome escape from the mortgage world.
And I can always try busking in your High Street with my Saxophone if the world of finance were to disappear into the AI world!
